In addition to specialist nursing care our team offers a range of family support services.
Children and young people suffering from life-limiting illnesses often find it hard to put their feelings into words. Through our music, art and play therapy we hope to increase happiness, responsiveness and empowerment for these children and their families/whānau. Our Family Services team will work closely with your family, throughout the care of your child including providing ongoing bereavement support.
Our Family Services team offers counselling, social work, spiritual care and music therapy based on an assessment of needs. We visit in your home, hospital and community (e.g. schools, marae) and coordinate the care of your child, working with all health care professionals involved while acknowledging that parents and caregivers know the child best.
